First official day of FALL Y'ALL and I couldn't be happier to bring to you our first activity from the Fall Family Bucket List hosted by two of my best blogging buddies: Elizabeth from Chasin' Mason and Desiree from Macke Monologues.
Although Northern California doesn't produce the same Fall as Northern Illinois, we are still going to go all out for Fall, including a surprise trip back to Illinois very soon! My mom doesn't know when we are coming, but I told her to be prepared for Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch trips, and maybe I can even convince her to bake us some cookies :) We will probably hold off on pumpkin carving and Halloween decorating until October, but if it were up to Myles our whole house would be filled with 'punkin' right now! He is officially obsessed and I love it. Every time we go to the store we have to stop by the Halloween decorations and we have even already been to the Spirit Halloween store to pick out out costumes. But before I get too ahead of myself, here is our first Fall activity.
If you follow me on Instagram (@theeveryday_momma), then you may remember one of these shots. We actually took this walk a couple weeks ago, when the temperatures were a little more Fall like (back to the 80s last and this week!) There is a big city park blocks from our house that we frequent. This particular day we decided to do some exploring and happened upon a secret trail.
Then we found some blackberries that Myles really wanted. I didn't know if they were okay, but my dad assured me they were just fine. I was still a little skeptical, but I went ahead and let him. He was happy and we are all still alive :)
What is on your Fall family bucket list to do over the next couple months?
That trail!! It looks like something straight out of a movie! Love how the trees form kind of a tunnel!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
I would've been weary about the blackberries but when I think back on the plants I used to eat when I was a kid....I'm surprised I'm not dead! Lol you're so lucky to visit Illinois as much as you do! So fun, plus I'm sure you miss your mom like crazy
ReplyDeleteYou guys look like you had so much fun on your walk! You are lucky that your high is 80... I feel like it's fall when its 80 here! LOL. I totally would decorate our house with pumpkins too right now but my husband says its took early. Part pooper. I still might go get some small ones for decoration though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us!
Hehe. He's so adorable. I love walks in Arizona and they are much better when it's not as hot. JR isn't really familiar with pumpkin, but I do want to take him to a pumpkin patch or to go apple picking. :)
ReplyDeleteI love fall walks!! Such a handsome little man!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is your little guy? I'm patiently waiting for cooler temperatures so that we can go on our nature walk.
ReplyDeleteI love nature walks!
ReplyDeleteThat was the best part because it was still hot out that in there it was way cooler. I really liked it in there too, although I am pretty sure some bums lived there. At least we didn't have an encounter when we were down there. Looking forward to linking up some more!
ReplyDeleteI have put up some stuff now, but I am taking my time to get it all out. I love Halloween though so the longer it is out the better! We are going to get our pumpkins soon, maybe this week. I want to go get some little ones too to put outside the door. Can't wait to see the rest of your fall bucket list!
ReplyDeleteSo funny because I was the same way. I ate all sorts of stuff I had no idea about. Then when my mom saw these pictures she freaked out saying I shouldn't have let him eat them because I didn't know for sure... really mom... I was out eating god knows what when I was like 7 and you didn't bat an eye! She is so much more protective over Myles than she ever was with me! But yes I miss her like crazy and always feel so good when I get to be home with her. :)
ReplyDeleteUs too! Myles is definitely an outdoorsy kid. He loves exploring and I love that he is learning. Plus the weather is so perfect we have to be outside!
ReplyDeleteFall is way different in California, but we are still trying to do our normal Fall stuff here. Not exactly cooling off, but it's October and we will celebrate!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It definitely isn't cool here either. The good thing was that it was totally shaded under the trees there. Otherwise we would have been sweating. California Fall is way different from the Illinois Fall that we are used to!
ReplyDeleteMyles just learned pumpkin this month! We we go places now there are pumpkins every where, so he learned that one quick! Now everyday he asks to go to the Halloween or pumpkin store. I don't know how he is going to take it once Halloween is over!
