Trendy Tot Tuesday: Elbow Patches

It's time again for my feeble attempt at a fashion post. Luckily for you all, it revolves around my son and not me! So even if it's not really fashionable at all, at least you get to see cute pictures of him. So here goes my link-up for Trendy Tot Tuesday with the lovely Kelly at Modern Camelot and Megan at Table for Three!

I love dressing my little guy. Most of the time it involves sweats or worn-in jeans and a t-shirt, but occasionally I get to dress this cutie up in his Sunday's Best. My favorite items come from the "old man style" trend. Is it wrong that I insist on him looking like he is 2 going on 65? I know the days of dressing him my way are limited, so I have to seize the opportunity while it lasts! Are you with me? The suspenders are still my favorite piece from this trend, but the elbow patches come in at a close second.
Here is my little guy sporting his leather elbow patched cardigan (these are some of my best attempts at photo shoot... So props to all you child photographers; it is a task and a half):

Cardigan: Old Navy (similar) | Pants: Carter's | Shoes: Cherokee

He also wore the cardigan for our Winter Family Photos taken back in December. Below are some outtakes and ones just of Myles. The rest can be seen here.
These were from our winter family photos check out the rest here.

Trendy Tot Tuesday: Suspenders

Today I am linking up again with the lovely Kelly at Modern Camelot and Megan at Table for Three for some Trendy Tot Tuesday action!
I just can't get enough of my little cutie these days. I mean, I know he won't be okay with me putting his pictures up on my blog forever, so I have to plaster him all over here now before he figures out what's going on, right?!?
Today is all about my most favorite piece of clothing in Myles' closet. In the months leading up to Christmas, I was on a mad hunt for some suspenders for Myles. I was looking for the ones that clip onto pants, but I could not find them anywhere. The cutest thing in the world for baby boy fashion, and no one had them in-store? Normally, I would've just threw my arms up in utter dismay and then ordered a pair online, but I was not giving in this time! I had told my mom about my frustrations over the suspenders probably several hundred times before we made our way back home for Christmas. By that time, I had given up on my dream to put Myles in suspenders for Christmas. Boo-Hoo!
But just when I thought all hope was lost, my mother (aka my Knightress in Shining Armour) brought me to the mall. She wanted to show me something she had found: the greatest pair of khakis I had ever seen. They were Joe Fresh for kids tan khakis with attached suspenders!!!! Grandma came through for the big WIN again y'all! I could seriously put Myles in them everyday and just snuggle the heck out of my little lumberjack boy :)
Here are two different ways he has worn them:

Joe Fresh Suspender Pants | Jean button-up: Old Navy | Shoes: Cherokee

I was way too giddy about being able to put Myles in suspenders for Christmas celebrations. This was from when we had breakfast with Santa! It was even better than I had ever imagined :)

Joe Fresh Suspender Pants | Flannel button-up: OshKosh | Shoes: Circo

Trendy Tot Tuesday: Valentine's Day

I have been following Trendy Tot Tuesday and its beautiful mommy hosts for quite some time now. I always look forward to seeing how Kelly at Modern Camelot and Megan at Table for Three style their adorable daughters each week!
Personally, I am fashionably-handicapped. I mean... I like fashion, in the sense that I like to follow other fashion-forward people. I love seeing people put together outfits and style the whole look. I have been obsessed with Project Runway since the first episode of the first season (I may even own some seasons on DVD). I am very fascinated by it, but for the most part, I suck at it. Jeans and sweaters are as fancy as I get. It's mostly a confidence issue. I am too self-conscious to bust out a unique or trendy look. Also, as a SAMH, I rarely go anywhere that requires me to look presentable :)
All that to explain why I have been following this link-up for so long, but have never joined in. I love putting Myles in fashionable, little man clothes, but I am by no means a fashion guru. I buy second-hand and clearance and am not sure he is very 'trendy'. However, I have been loving how my little man is looking more like a big boy these days and ever since I got my 'big girl' camera, I have been able to get Myles to pose for some adorable photos during my all too frequent photo shoots. So this link-up is the perfect way for me to show him off :)
I have been playing around with photo editing lately and these are the results from Valentine's Day:

Jeans: Carter's Straight Leg | Top: Circo from Target
This is the photo I sent to some friends and family.

I only got these shots by bribing him! I really wanted him to stand in front of the fireplace decorations, but he was not having it. So I let him hold on to a couple of the pink plastic hearts that were in the glass bowls on the mantle. He was so excited, he actually stayed still long enough for me to get the pictures!

These pictures I took earlier in the day with my iPhone because I didn't have my Canon near me. My iPhone takes really crappy pictures, so this was the best they came out:

Thank you Kelly and Megan for hosting and letting me link-up!

What is your go-to outfit for your littles? Mine is always jeans and a tee!
